We have lots of kids at Grace Church Brockley and they do church just like the grown ups do - by singing, reading the bible, learning about Jesus and praying together - as well as playing lots of games and making some amazing crafts.
Sunday Structure
Children’s Church takes place during the Sunday service. The children remain in the main church service for the first 20 – 25 minutes. This enables us to spend some time together worshipping God as a church family, and then they leave for their age-appropriate programme in Children’s Church for approximately an hour.
The hour is split between and ‘all-together’ time, where the children participate in singing, praying, memory verse learning and a game, (20 min) and a Bible lesson and discussion/activity time (40 min). On occasions, particularly over the summer, the children also stay together for the Bible lesson, before breaking into groups for discussion/activities. This allows the teachers to have a break, but also to learn from observing others teach.
